Water sports of all kinds are available on Derwentwater, subject to a 10 m.p.h. speed limit.

Canoes, kayaks, sailing dinghies, wind surfing gear, motor and rowing boats can be hired at nearby Portinscale, with tuition if required.

There are public launching facilities along the lake shore if you have your own equipment.
